Hi,
Model: Macbook Pro 15 Late 2011 MD322
OS: Lion updated to today
Sony Ilink Cable
Model Camera: Sony DCR-HC53E Mini DV Handycam
Connection: FireWire cable 800 to i-link DV
Software: i-Movie 11
Download mac os x theme for windows 7. Fully compatible with Windows 10DisclaimerMac OS X Lion is a product developed by lordalpha1. Mac OS X Lion Latest Version!.
It seems that i-Movie is not recognizing my handycam.. I have tried rebooting with the camera plugged in, and even tried to reset to Reset my pram.
This computer will no longer receive Google Chrome updates because Mac OS X 10.6 - 10.9 are no longer supported. This computer will no longer receive Google Chrome updates because Mac OS X 10.6. Google's new browser is now available for Mac. Previous versions. 83.0.4103.61 85.89MB. Google chrome for mac os x 10.5 2.
I know that the problem is not with the camera because, last year I had a HP that has a i-link dv connection. So I have already passed video dv files using windows 7 64x and a direct i-link dv to i-link dv cable.
When I boot up Lion, with the cable linked and camera on (in video mode, with windows I used this mode to pass video to windows software), in i-Movie I can only see the option to save video footage from facetime camera, and not my handycam. When I then go to system information fo my mac, and go to report of my system, (to see all my hardware, when I go into firewire, a message in red is stating the following: This hardware cannot be displayed. But when I take out the cable and go again into report of my system, and go to firewire I get the usual: Bus FireWire: Maximum velocity: until 800 mb/sec

I found a link: http://help.apple.com/imovie/cameras/pt/index.html?lang=pt-pt, with compatible cameras for i-Life, but it seems that my handycam is not available in this list. Is there a way to change any settings, so that my mac will recognize my handy cam as one of the cameras in this list?
Because the data send by i-link DV from a camera, should be the same data.
Just to clarify, this handycam does not has any ports for memory cards, so that is why connecting the usb cable will only serve to use the handycam as a webcam and nothing more. Using a i-link DV cable is to pass the footage from the min dv tape to a computer.
Anyone has the same problem as me?
Anyone has a solution for me?
Regards,

These adapters don't work with the Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter, which doesn't support Mini DisplayPort displays.

Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter
The Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter connects a Mac that has a Mini DisplayPort , Thunderbolt port , or Thunderbolt 2 port to a display that uses a dual-link DVI cable.
This adapter supports display resolutions up to 2560 x 1600. To use it with a dual-link DVI display such as the 30-inch Apple Cinema HD Display, connect the USB cable from the display to the USB-A port on the adapter, then connect the USB-A cable on the adapter to the USB-A port on your Mac.
Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter
The Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter connects a Mac that has a Mini DisplayPort , Thunderbolt port , or Thunderbolt 2 port to display that uses a VGA cable.
This adapter supports display resolutions up to 1920 x 1200. To achieve resolutions greater than 1600 x 1200, displays with high refresh rates might require that you lower the refresh rate.
Because the VGA connection is analog instead of digital, HDCP-encrypted content might not play back, or might play back at a lower resolution.
